please help problem with 318 saloon

Postby Bud143 » Sun Feb 28, 2010 1:07 pm

Hi whenever i set off in my car it wants to "kangaroo".It only does this in first gear and stops when you change into second gear.Reverse is not a problem.A friend of mine seems to think that its probably an engine or gearbox mounting.Any ideas would be greatfully appreciated thankyou.

It's it the same how ever you drive it? I.e, if you floor it or try and set off really slowly building the revs?

If you were to try and set off in a 3rd or 4th is it worst? I'm not a mechanic but would guess if its an engine mount starting in a higher/lower gear would show the problem even more as the engine would be strugging in the first place.
